Press Release:
Marshall Islands
National Telecommunications Authority (NTA) Triples Their Capacity with Voiceware Systems
October 27, 2005 (West Palm
Beach, Florida) – Voiceware Systems (VS), known for its award winning
Telephony Services Platform (TSP), today announced a 300 percent expansion
to the Marshall Islands National Telecom Authority’s (NTA) TSP.
NTA
currently offers Prepaid Phone cards and is anticipating rapid traffic
growth on the TSP with the roll out of Prepaid Wireless service. The ease of expansion, the flexibility
and reliability of the TSP Platform
made it an easy choice for NTA to go with VS. As a bonus NTA was able to get a
customized version of the Customer Recharge IVR solution to completely
automate the customer recharge process.
“We have worked closely with NTA and
we are excited to be continuing that relationship in order to help them
service their customers more effectively,” said Brian Betron, President of Voiceware Systems.
“We are delighted to have
chosen Voiceware Systems because of the company's innovative and feature
rich platform which fully meets the needs of our customers,” said Thomas
De Brum of Marshall
Islands National Telecommunications Authority. “We are confident that
the new upgrade will deliver benefits to our company as we are expanding
our penetration in the Federated States of Micronesia.”

About Marshall
Islands National Telecom.
Marshall Islands National Telecommunications Authority
(NTA) has a monopoly on the provision of all telecom services in the
Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI). Until mid-2003 there was no local
ISP, so Internet access was provided through a satellite link to IT&E
Overseas on Guam. A digital TDMA-800
cellular service launched during 2000, replacing the island’s
original AMPS system. This system includes both fixed and mobile services
and provides telephone service to some of the other islands in the
Kwajalein Atoll where no fixed-line service is available. A potential
agreement involving the Federated States of
Micronesia and RMI proposes to run 3,500 kilometers
of fiber optic, submarine cable from Guam to Pompeii,
Kwajalein and Majuro.
